Our hotel selection method in Saint-Malo Intra-Muros

We only list hotels genuinely located inside Saint-Malo's ramparts: no address from the Sillon or the outskirts dressed up as the "historic centre".

For each one we check the exact location within the Intra-Muros, the walking distance to the beaches and the gates, and the few things that really matter here — a private car park or garage, air conditioning, a view of the ramparts or the sea.

We sell no rooms and take no commission: our only aim is to help you sleep in the best spot in the corsair city.

Inside the Intra-Muros, every address is scrutinised like a corsair's logbook. The ratings shown come exclusively from travellers' reviews on Google: we never write a single comment in place of guests. Prices, meanwhile, are given for guidance only, as they shift with the seasons and availability; that is why each listing carries the date of its last check.

The star rating and the list of amenities are entered by hand, from the establishment's official sources. Walking times to the Porte Saint-Vincent, the cathedral or the ramparts are estimated from the geographic coordinates — a handy benchmark in this maze of lanes where everything is done on foot.

The photographs come from Google Places and are shown with their attribution, without misleading retouching.

This Intra-Muros guide is entirely independent: we sell no rooms, take no commission on your bookings and sell no place at the top of the list. Our only compass remains the interest of the traveller who wants to sleep in the old town, sheltered by the ramparts.
